Masters’ Union Visits The Times of India!

PGP TBM Cohort 5 students recently visited the Times of India (TOI) Headquarters in Sahibabad. Here are the highlights of this visit:

• Overview of Newspaper Operations: We interacted with a TOI representative who gave us a behind-the-scenes look at how news is sourced, compiled, and delivered to the masses.
• Printing Press Tour: We toured the printing press and observed the full newspaper production cycle, from raw materials to final bundling. The high-speed printing machines charmed us and showed us the efficiency and scale of TOI’s operations.
• Water-Positive Initiatives: We also learned about TOI’s commitment to sustainability through their water-positive initiatives, which underscored the company’s efforts in environmental responsibility.
• Business Insights and Revenue Models: Beyond the newsroom, we gained insight into TOI’s revenue models and learned how the media business functions and sustains itself financially.

Overall, this visit provided a deeper understanding of the complexities behind news production and the operational challenges of the newspaper industry.
