Mentorship Roundtable

From Farm to Fame: First Bud Organic Founder Mentors Future F&B Leaders

January 7, 2025

We welcomed Mitresh Sharma, Founder & CEO of First Bud Organic, to mentor our students on how to kickstart a business and the crucial steps to make it successful! We were intrigued by the ideas that Mitresh shared about branding, social media strategy, and consumer psychology. From the right SKU to featuring on Shark Tank India, students got a peek into the world of startups.

Fun Fact:

  • OYO Founder Ritesh Agarwal invested in First Bud Organics on Shark Tank!

Top Insights:

How First Bud Organic started with just Rs. 1.5 lakhs: Starting with minimum products and a concrete knowledge of consumer needs, along with the right marketing strategy such as focusing more on the demand of organic products helped the business grow in its initial days.

Your business depends on finding the right SKUs: Sell those products where there is a need to bridge the gap between consumers and products. Do your own research around why people might want to buy your product. First Bud Organics started with tulsi green tea, and it worked perfectly for the business!

Don’t give Brand Guidelines a backseat: Bringing uniformity to your brand in packaging, marketing, and strategy helps you gain trust and authenticity. It is important to figure out your brand’s voice, tone, and design well in advance!
