Frequently Asked Questions

Course Curriculum

What should I expect from the Certificate in Financial Planning & Analysis (Cert-FP&A)?

The Certificate in Financial Planning & Analysis (Cert-FP&A), designed and delivered by KPMG in India in association with Masters’ Union, is a fully hands-on and placement targeted programme. The programme will prepare you to start a career in FP&A.

As part of the programme, you will receive rigorous industry immersive training inclusive of outcome-driven learning experiences.

Through the course content and experience sharing in the sessions, the trainers will bring to life real life challenges that FP&A professionals are expected to solve for their business stakeholders.

The course will focus on both FP&A technical skills and softer skills required to deliver on the stakeholder expectations for new FP&A professionals.

What should I NOT expect from the Certificate in Financial Planning & Analysis (Cert-FP&A)?

The programme curriculum is meticulously structured to enable hands-on learning through real-life projects, internships & apprenticeships. However, you should not expect hands-on training on softwares like BOARD, Power BI and Tableau which are software packages used in organizations. Organizations, depending on the tools used internally, typically train their staff on these tools and so knowledge of tools isn’t a differentiator. The programme doesn’t guarantee job placements upon completion.

Is it mandatory to participate in projects?

Participation in hands-on projects under the mentorship of KPMG in India’s FP&A experts helps you to become industry ready. It is mandatory because these projects contribute to a significant part of your total credits during the programme and are crucial to provide you real life experience.

What type of learning experience should I expect from the programme?

This programme is focused on 100% skill-based learning using the latest practices, real-world assignments, and case studies. It is set up in an online-offline format so that you can collaborate with your peer group in person and on campus. You also get to leverage the brilliant opportunity of being taught live by the KPMG in India team as well as the co-op design of the curriculum integrating hands-on academics with real-life projects, internships & apprenticeships.

Is any certification granted at the end of the programme?

Yes. Upon completion of case studies, hands-on projects and in-person peer collaborations, you will be granted a Certificate in Financial Planning & Analysis.

What does “Hybrid” teaching mode mean?

All the sessions in the Certificate in Financial Planning & Analysis (Cert-FP&A) are conducted live & online over Zoom.

To help the folks enrolled in the programme make the most out of their learning journeys - Masters’ Union will arrange for the students to attend the live sessions out of a coworking space across locations in India provided there is a significant number of enrolled students in that location.

We have found this arrangement to be effective for peer learning and forming genuine friendships as you work towards building your career in Finance.

Career Support

What type of career support should I expect from this programme?

During the programme, you will receive assistance from the Career Services team at Masters’ Union and you will be able to track your career progression with a personalised plan. In addition, you will attend workshops on LinkedIn profiling, personal branding, interview preparation and salary negotiation that will help you ramp up for the placement drive. During the process, you will have access to the B-School placement network and internal job portal to apply for jobs with recruiters.

How will my doubts/questions be addressed in an online programme?

As this programme is in a hybrid format, your doubts and questions can be either addressed during online classroom sessions or in-person meetups with your peers. Additionally, you will also share a common forum with the batch where you will be able to get your queries addressed from the instructors or initiate a discussion with your peer group.

Can I apply for a job with KPMG in India?

Students will be eligible to apply for a job with KPMG in India, but the selection will happen at the discretion of the KPMG in India team.

Does Masters’ Union or KPMG in India guarantee a job upon the completion of this programme?

No. Neither Masters’ Union nor KPMG in India take any responsibility for your placement in a full-time role upon the completion of this programme.
