What should I expect from the MasterCamp in Applied Finance?

MasterCamp in Applied Finance, in collaboration with KPMG in India, is a fully hands-on programme. During the 11-month duration of the programme, you should expect rigorous industry immersive training inclusive of outcome-driven learning experiences. The programme also includes a 3-month-long virtual internship for freshers and a live project for experienced professionals.

What should I NOT expect from the MasterCamp in Applied Finance?

The MasterCamp in Applied Finance does not follow a conventional pedagogical approach that is entirely focused on theoretical knowledge. The programme curriculum is meticulously structured to enable hands-on learning through real-life projects, internships & apprenticeships. However, you should not expect guaranteed job placements upon completion of 11 months.

Is it mandatory to participate in projects?

Participation in hands-on projects under the mentorship of finance and accounting experts helps you to become industry-ready. It is mandatory because these projects contribute to a significant part of your total credits during the programme.

What does “Hybrid” teaching mode mean?

All the sessions in the MasterCamp in Applied Finance are conducted live & online over Zoom.

To help the folks enrolled in the programme make the most out of their learning journeys - the MasterCamp team will arrange for the students to attend the live sessions out of a coworking space across locations in India provided there is a significant number of enrolled students in that location.

We have found this arrangement to be effective for peer learning and forming genuine friendships as you work towards kickstarting your career in Finance.

What type of learning experience should I expect from the programme?

This programme is focused on 100% skill-based learning using the latest practices, real-world assignments and finance case studies like Yes Bank, Demonetization, Fintech, SBI etc. It is set up in a Hybrid format so that you can collaborate with your peer group in person and on campus. You also get to leverage the brilliant opportunity of being taught live by the KPMG in India & MasterCamp team. Moreover, the co-op curriculum design seamlessly blends hands-on academics with practical experiences through real-life projects, internships, and apprenticeships.

Is any certification granted at the end of the programme?

Yes. Upon completion of case studies, boot camps, hands-on projects and in-person peer collaborations, you will be granted a Certificate from both - KPMG in India & MasterCamp.

What are the session timings for the upcoming cohort?

The live sessions are held on Saturday & Sunday mornings to match the schedule of working professionals and students.

What type of career support should I expect from this programme?

During the programme, you will receive assistance from the Career Services team at MasterCamp and you will be able to track your career progression with a personalised plan. In addition, you will attend workshops on LinkedIn profiling, personal branding, interview preparation and salary negotiation that will help you amp up for the placement drive. During the process, you will have access to our recruiter network and internal job portal to apply for jobs with recruiters.

How will my doubts/questions be addressed in an online programme?

As this programme is in a Hybrid format, your doubts and questions can be either addressed during online classroom sessions or in-person meetups with your peers. Additionally, you will also share a common forum with the batch where you will be able to get your queries addressed by the instructors or initiate a discussion with your peer group.

Does Masters’ Union or KPMG in India guarantee a job upon the completion of this programme?

No. Neither MasterCamp nor KPMG in India take any responsibility for your placement in a full-time role or the conversion of the virtual internship into a PPO upon the completion of this programme.

What is meant by the integrated virtual internship at KPMG in India?

An integrated virtual internship at KPMG in India will give you the opportunity to directly work on an immersive project supervised by a KPMG mentor. During the virtual internship, you will work in teams of up to 5 students and will meet virtually with your supervisor and team to discuss projects and progress. This valuable work experience during the programme duration will add an extra edge to your CV, which you can further showcase while applying and interviewing for full-time roles.

Will all the students be eligible for integrated virtual internships at KPMG in India?

Students, who maintain over 90% attendance and have a min GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 will be eligible for the virtual internships with KPMG in India.

Is the virtual internship paid or unpaid?

The virtual internship at KPMG in India is an unpaid one.

Who should apply to the programme?

This programme is structured to cater to the learning requirements of undergraduate students as well as young professionals. Freshers currently pursuing B.Com/BBA/BA or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics/Accounts with a minimum of 50% result are eligible to apply. Additionally, this course is also suitable for working professionals with 1-2 years of work experience, aiming to transition to a career in finance and accounting in industries like Banking, Insurance, Financial Services, Consumer Goods, IT/ITeS, Manufacturing, Telecom, Pharma.

My current role does not include exposure to Finance or Accounting. Does it make sense for me to opt for this programme?

Yes. If you have 1-2 years of work experience and are aiming to transition to a career in finance and accounting in industries like Banking, Insurance, Financial Services, Consumer Goods, IT/ITeS, Manufacturing, Telecom, Pharma, this programme is apt for you. However, a fundamental understanding of Finance and Accounting operations would be preferable.

What is the admission process for the programme and what is the timeline?

Admission to this programme is a 2-step process. The first step is the submission of the online application along with the required documents. Next, the selected candidates will be provided with an offer of admission to the programme.

What is the minimum educational qualification required to take this programme?

You should be an undergraduate fresher currently pursuing a B.Com/BBA/BA or equivalent Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Economics/Accounts with a minimum of 50% result.

What is the payment fee schedule?

If you are offered a place on the programme, you will be notified of a specific date by which you must confirm acceptance and pay the non-refundable admissions fee deposit along with a refundable security deposit.

What is the refund policy?

The application fee, admission fee, and tuition fee are all NON-REFUNDABLE.

Can I get more than one scholarship?

No, a candidate is eligible for one scholarship only. It is noteworthy that scholarships are granted according to various criteria depending on factors like the candidate’s application, academic scores, work experience if any, and performance in the interview.

Is there any deferral or refund policy for this programme?

Currently, we are not offering the option to defer the admission offer. Those who cannot join the programme during the current intake are advised to apply again for the next intake.
